Track and field recap: Rams finish Day 1 of NCAA West regional

By Chris Feller AUSTIN, Texas - Six Colorado State track and field athletes competed Thursday at the NCAA West regional at Mike A. Myers Stadium. Hannah Pensack-Rinehart earned an 18th-place finish in the 10,000-meter run, with a time of 35 minutes, 39.3 seconds. Sarah Heuer took 40th, finishing in 38:09.17. Kendra Gerk did not finish the race. Alex Balsiger claimed 35th in the 1,500-meter run, clocking in at 3:57.82. Holly Keeper finished 40th on the women's side of the event, posting a time of 4:41.04. Kiah Hicks placed 38th overall in the preliminary round of the shot put. The freshman threw for a distance of 46 feet, 7.25 inches on her third and final attempt. Competition resumes for the Rams at 10 a.m. MST Friday, with the women's discus throw.
