COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Sophomore thrower Kiah Hicks earned yet another Mountain West Women’s Track & Field Athlete of the Week Award Tuesday, the third such honor of her season and career.

This is Colorado State’s fourth honor as a program during the 2013 outdoor season, coming as a result of Hicks’ monster discus toss of 180 feet, 10 inches at the Cowpoke Open on May 3. Her throw was a personal best and ranks first in the Mountain West as well as ninth in all of Division I.

Hicks is the only athlete in the conference, men’s and women’s athletes both included, to win the award three times this season. Boise State, New Mexico and Colorado State are the only schools to have earned the award four times total across men’s and women’s programs this season.

The 2013 Mountain West Outdoor Track & Field Championships begin Wednesday in Las Vegas, Nev., at Myron Partridge Stadium.
