FORT COLLINS, Colo. - Colorado State's track and field team recorded six first-place finishes Saturday, en route to sweeping the Jack Christiansen Invite.

The Rams totaled 182.33 points on the men's side and 190 on the women's side, outscoring regional rivals Colorado, Northern Colorado, Wyoming and Air Force along with four other schools.

Trevor Brown earned another first-place finish in the 110-meter hurdles, winning the event in 13.95 seconds. Kelby Dias took second, with a time of 14.41, and Robert Wasinger claimed fifth, finishing in 14.78.

Brown alongside Seth Monson, Alex Balsiger, and Zach Browning won the 4x400-meter relay, with a time of 3:15.62.

Balsiger placed second in the 1,500-meter run, clocking in at 3:51.93 and Monson recorded a time of 48.11 in the 400-meter dash, earning third place.

"I think we definitely had some bright spots," said Head Coach Brian Bedard. "Alex Balsiger had the standout performance for the day. Alex did a nice job. Trevor Brown is Trevor Brown, he performed extremely well."

Holly Keeper won the 1,500-meter run, with a time of 4:36.75. Whitney Henderson claimed third in the event, finishing in 4:42.28.

Meaghann Peak took first in the triple jump, with a mark of 40 feet, 2 inches. Peak (17-6.75) and Bethany DeLong (17-5.25) placed fifth and sixth, respectively, in the long jump.

Seth Butler came out victorious in the 800-meter run, posting a time of 1:54.0. Alex Muntefering placed second, finishing in 1:54.66.

Kenisha Throughsingh placed first in the javelin throw, with a toss of 138-01.

Jessica Sharbono (171-7) and Elizabeth Johnson (155-7) placed second and third, respectively, in the discus throw.

Icenia Anderson posted a time of 12.28 in the 100-meter dash, earning a second-place finish. Shanetria Thomas finished in third, with a time of 12.33. Anderson also took fourth in the 200-meter dash, with a time of 25.00.

Scotty Owens tied for second in the high jump, clearing a height of 6-7. Gunnar Haynes (6-5) and Mitchel Solomon (6-5) tied for fifth in the event. Owens also took fourth in the long jump, with a mark of 21-11.

Alison Forrester took second in the high jump, clearing a height of 5-6.5.

In the men's 3,000-meter steeplechase, Joe Marchand earned a second-place finish, clocking in at 9:59.02.

Emily Briggs recorded a second-place finish in the 5,000-meter run, with a time of 18:23.41.

In the women's pole vault, Morgan Griffin tied for second, clearing a height of 11-5. Sara Page tied for fourth, with a mark of 10-11.

Trey Richardson recorded a mark of 48-6.75 in the triple jump, earning third place.

Alec Pott (53-8.5) and Jake Schneeberger (52-1.25) finished third and fourth, respectively, in the shot put. Schneeberger also took sixth in the discus throw, with a toss of 162-3.

Carson Rowley earned a third-place finish in the hammer throw, with a toss of 188-2.

Jenna Sliwinski (189-8), Throughsingh (188-00) and Kiah Hicks (179-11) placed fourth, fifth and sixth, respectively, in the hammer throw.

Hicks earned a fifth-place finish in the shot put, with a toss of 47-9.75. Johnson took sixth, throwing for 46-5.25.

Kody Leach took third in the 5,000-meter run, finishing in 16:00.31.

Lindsey Keller placed third in the 100-meter hurdles, with a time of 14.07.

Johanna Reed claimed third in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, posting a time of 12:20.18.

"We did rest some kids," added Bedard. "Some of our long-distance athletes we trained through this week. We had to back some people off. We did have several personal records and that bodes well for people trying to make the conference team and those trying to make the NCAA West regional."

The Rams compete next at the Front Range Championships in Colorado Springs, Colo., May 4.
