Track and field recap: CSU's McMillin wins decathlon at Glenn Morris Multi-Event

FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Josh McMillin recorded 6,558 points en route to a first-place finish in the decathlon and the Colorado State track and field team had a successful day Friday, at the Glenn Morris Multi-Event at Jack Christiansen Track.
The junior from Colorado Springs, Colo., excelled on Day 2 of the two-day event, clearing a height of 14 feet, 9.5 inches in the pole vault and throwing for a distance of 166-11 in the javelin throw.
Justin Green placed second in the event, with 6,234 points. Green finished the 1,500-meter run in 5 minutes, 19.45 seconds and the 110-meter hurdles in 15.67.
Cate Brus led the Rams in the heptathlon, placing fourth with 4,538 points. Brus recorded a distance of 98-7 in the javelin throw and clocked in at 2:34.75 in the 800-meter run.
Jenna Sliwinski and Carson Rowley led the Rams at the Jack Christiansen Invite in the afternoon. Sliwinski threw for 189-8 in the hammer throw, earning third place. Rowley took third on the men's side of the event, with a toss of 188-2.
Jake Schneeberger was the only CSU athlete to compete in the discus throw. The freshman took fifth, with a mark of 164-9.
Competition at the Jack Christiansen Invite begins Saturday morning at 9 a.m. MST.
