FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Members of the Colorado State track and field team will travel to Walnut, Calif., beginning Thursday for the Mt. SAC Relays. Many will be looking to do well against the top-ranked competition.
This weekend, Trevor Brown, will be one of 45 athletes to compete for CSU this weekend. The senior will compete in the 400-meter hurdles after winning the event multiple times this season. Mariah Witt will also hurdle at the meet in the 400-meter hurdle race.
Also hurdling for CSU in the shorter distance is Sam Little. He will be highlighted in the 110-meter hurdle race.
With over 200 other competitors, Chloe Phillips heads to the 1500-meter open run for the female Rams. Also for the crew, freshman Abby Simpson will sprint in the 400-meter dash. Zach Browning can be seen in the same event Friday.
The men’s 4x100-meter relay team will accompany the others in California over the weekend. Another relay squad, the women’s 4x400-meter team will compete on the second day.
Senior Allison Forrester will high jump, an event she has done well in this season. Cheyenne Hall will also jump for CSU in the triple jump on Friday.
Aaliyah Pete, who has consistently performed well in the shot put in her rookie season with the Rams, will be in the field event this weekend. Her teammates Jake Schneeberger and JT Van Veen will throw the discus and shot put.
From a solid close to the indoor season and a remarkably strong start to the outdoor season, Jessica Sharbono has become comfortable at the top on the field. The Mountain West has now recognized her for the second consecutive week after winning the shot put and discus throw multiple times, and breaking personal records time and time again. She will compete in the throws again this weekend.
Many other Rams will compete at the Relays, and to keep up with the team, follow @CSURAMSTRACK on Twitter.
