GOLDEN, Colo. – Shanetria Thomas won the women’s 60-meter dash and Trevor Brown tied his school record time of 7.86 seconds in the 60-meter hurdles at the Mines Twilight meet in Golden, Colo.
“We had some good stuff happen,” said Assistant Coach Karim Abdel Wahab. “It was an overall good day, especially in the hurdles.”
Thomas, a freshman from Texarkana, Tex., took home first in the 60-meter dash, clocking in at 7.69 seconds.
For the second consecutive weekend, Brown ran a 7.86 second time in the 60-meter hurdles in his first-place effort. Kelby Dias finished in second, with a time of 8.09 seconds.
Lindsey Keller set a personal record in the 60-meter hurdles, finishing in 8.57 seconds, which is currently the fourth-fastest time in the Mountain West. Kalie Kirk ran a season-best time of 8.68 seconds and Stephanie Gerber finished in 8.91 seconds in the event.
“We went to the meet as a final tune up before the conference meet,” added Wahab. “It was certainly a confidence booster.”
The Rams compete next at the Mountain West indoor championships Feb. 23-25 in Albuquerque, N.M.
