Track & field preview: CSU heads to Husker Invitational

FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Beginning Friday, the Rams will compete in Lincoln, Neb., for the Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational at the Bob Devaney Sports Center.

 

They will kick off the weekend at 12 p.m. MT with the start of the heptathlon and pentathlon, which will finish Saturday beginning at 10:00 a.m. The men’s weight throw will start non-combined events at 5 p.m. Friday, and both field and running events will resume Saturday at noon. Admission to the invitational will be free. Results will be posted on CSURams.com, and to keep up with the action, follow @CSURAMSTRACK on Twitter.

 

Rams in the rankings

 

Currently, both the men’s and women’s teams are ranked fifth in the Mountain Region after the Rams decided to sit out the CSM Twilight Collegiate Open last weekend due to the inclement weather. Colorado State has six athletes in seven events ranked in the national top 50 lists after kicking off its indoor season to a great start. Here’s a look at the top 50 ranked athletes:
