LINCOLN, Neb. – Sarah Heuer won the 5,000-meter run and the Colorado State track and field team finished Day 1 of the Husker Invite Friday at the Devaney Center.
The Junior from St. Charles, Ill., took first in the event with a time of 17 minutes, 30.26 seconds. Teammates Kendra Gerk (17:31.56) and Emily Briggs (18:15.29), followed right behind finishing in second and third, respectively.
In the men’s 5,000-meter run, Ben Larson earned a fourth-place finish, clocking in at 14:50.64.
In the women’s weight throw, Kiah Hicks took fifth with a toss of 59 feet, 8.5 inches.
Bethany DeLong recorded a fourth-place finish in the long jump, with a distance of 18-06.
Competition resumes at 10:30 a.m. CST Saturday.
