COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Three Colorado State track and field members competed in the heptathlon Thursday at the Air Force Combined Event meet held in the Cadet Field House.

Robert Wasinger leads the trio, currently in eighth place after Day 1 of the two-day event. The sophomore placed second in the 60-meter dash, finishing in 7.07 seconds. He later took 14^th in the long jump (20 feet, 9 inches), eighth in the shot put (37-05.75) and tied for 16^th in the high jump (6-0.75). He finished the day with 2,756 points.

Matt Collins, who sits in 15^th place overall with 2,601 points, earned an 11^th-place finish in the shot put (36-01.25). He also finished 13^th in the long jump (20-09.25), tied for 19^th in the high jump (5-10.75), and took 11^th in the 60-meter dash (7.33).

Freshman Justin Green ended the day in 17^th place with 2,580 points. He placed 11^th in the long jump (20-10.75) and tied for eighth in the high jump (6-02.75). Green also claimed two 19^th-place finishes in the shot put (33-03.75) and 60-meter dash.

New Mexico’s Richard York leads the field with 2,968 points. Competition resumes Friday morning at 10:30 am M.S.T.
