FORT COLLINS, Colo. – The Colorado State track & field team travels to Boulder Friday to compete in the Potts Indoor Invitational, just six days after wrapping up action at its first meet of 2013. The Rams are coming off a brilliant performance at the Air Force All Comers Meet, where they took first-place finishes in nine different events.
After dominating the Air Force All Comers Meet with four wins in four events, the CSU throwers will attempt to continue their early 2013 success in Boulder. Freshman Tyler Schultz, sophomore Jake Schneeberger, sophomore Kiah Hicks and junior Jessica Sharbono will all compete for consecutive first-place finishes after each winning events in Colorado Springs. Schultz will attempt to defend his victory in the men’s shot put, while Schneeberger, Hicks, and Sharbono look to maintain domination in the men’s weight throw, women’s shot put, and women’s weight throw, respectively.
Junior hurdler Trevor Brown will contend to continue his dominance in the 60 meter hurdles after winning the event easily at the Air Force All Comers Meet. Senior Lindsey Keller will also compete for a victory in the women’s 60 meter hurdles for the second straight meet. Jumpers Jonathan Edmunds and Cheyenne Hall are also looking to continue success from All Comers Meet victories; Edmunds in the men’s long jump and Hall in the women’s triple jump.
The Potts Indoor Invitational will commence at 3 p.m. MT Friday with the women’s pole vault and women’s high jump. On Saturday, throws events will begin at 10 a.m. and races and jumps are scheduled to start at 2 p.m.
