FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Colorado State’s men’s and women’s track teams had a very successful fall in the classroom. The men’s team earned a team GPA of 3.071, while the women notched a GPA of 3.193.
For the men’s team, four student-athletes earned a 4.0 GPA in the fall semester: Andrew Goodman, Ricardo Kaempfen, Troy Waneka and Justin Weinmeister.
Goodman participated in cross country in the fall and was honored with second-team All-Mountain West for his performance throughout the season.
For the women’s team, seven student athletes earned a 4.0 GPA in the fall semester: Amy Medina, Gabrielle Pajak, Alexandra Hess, Cheyenne Hall, Jessica Green, Sarah Clough and Emily Briggs.
These exceptional student-athletes got off to great starts in the indoor track season that began on Jan. 11. Medina finished second place in the high jump while Green finished seventh place in the event. In the triple jump, Hall took first place passing her personal best set last year, with a jump of 40-1.25.
In total, the Rams took first place in six different events in their first meet of the 2014 campaign.
