AUSTIN, Texas – Colorado State saw nine athletes compete at the NCAA preliminary round at Myers Stadium Thursday. The Rams will begin Friday with the women’s throwing and men’s hurdle events.
Jake Schneeberger and JT Van Veen competed in the men’s discus to open the meet Thursday, though neither produced a throw far enough to advance to the finals. Schneeberger fouled on all three of his attempts, while Van Veen completed just one legal throw of 170 feet, 11 inches.
Jenna Sliwinski took part in the first of her two events she qualified for this season in the hammer. She fell short of the finals with a best throw of 186-2.
Stephanie Gerber opened the track portion of the meet in the 400-meter hurdles. Taking fifth in her heat, the sophomore clocked a time of 1 minute, 0.21 seconds, finishing 30th overall. Sam Little competed in the 400 hurdles on the men’s side, crossing the line at 53.29, taking seventh in his heat and 38th overall.
Whitney Henderson and Holly Keeper each ran the 1,500 meters. Henderson finished eighth in her heat and 34th overall with a time of 4:32.89, while Keeper took 11th in her heat and 40th overall at 4:37.34.
ran in the 800 meters in 1:53.85, placing 46th overall in the field. Sarah Heuer
completed the 10,000 meters in 38:58.19, finishing 48.
