WALNUT, Calif. - The Colorado State track & field team participated in its second day of action in California Friday, with most athletes at the Mt. SAC Relays. A handful of athletes also participated at Azusa Pacific's Bryan Clay Invitational Friday.

At the Mt. SAC Relays, middle distance runner Seth Butler finished the men's 800-meter run in 1 minute, 53.33 seconds.  Stephanie Gerber performed impressively in the women's 110-meter hurdles, finishing with a time of 1:00.65 for 16th place in a field of over 40 athletes.

In the men's triple jump, Graham Gilliland continued his string of impressive marks with a mark of 47 feet, 3.5 inches. Cheyenne Hall took 7th in the women's triple jump, leaping 39-2.5. In the women's high jump, Ashley Reid took 8th place with a jump of 5-7. Jazmyn Webster also jumped 5-7 but finished right behind Reid in 9th place.

In the men's hammer throw, Alec Pott took 16th place with a throw of 181-11. Tyler Schultz threw 176-8 to finish 20th, while Ken Harriman finished 23rd with a throw of 167-10. Schultz had an extremely impressive showing in the men's shot put, taking third place with an outdoor personal record throw of 56-8.75. Pott took 12th place with a throw of 52-11. Schultz and Jake Schneeberger finished back-to-back in the discus, throwing 155-5 and 153-8 for 19th and 20th places, respectively.



On the women's side of the throwing events, Elizabeth Johnson set an outdoor personal record with a toss of 48-2.5, good for 6th place. Kiah Hicks took 12th with a throw of 46-7.25, while Jessica Sharbono placed 14th with a mark of 44-9. Hicks also took 12th in the hammer throw, tossing 187 feet even.

At the Bryan Clay Invitational at Azusa Pacific University, Holly Keeper set a new personal record in the women's 1,500-meter run, finishing in 4:28.59 and taking second place. She broke the personal best set the day before at the Mt. SAC Relays. Trevor Brown also participated at Azusa, winning the men's 110-meter hurdles with a time of 13.81 seconds. Jake Schneeberger took third in the men's shot put at the meet, tossing 52-9.25 while JT Van Veen placed 13th with a mark of 48-10.75.

At the Mt. SAC Relays In Walnut, Thursday night's late events included a group of personal best performances by the CSU distance squad. Andrew Goodman set a personal best in the men's 3,000-meter steeplechase, running 9:03.45 to finish second in his section.

Sarah Heuer, Jennifer Tavé, Ben Larson and Jacob Morgan all set personal records in the 10,000-meter run. On the women's side, Heuer finished seventh in her section of over 30 athletes, running the race in a time of 34:51.70.  Tavé finished 23rd in the same section of the race, clocking in at 35:21.66. Jacob Morgan clocked in at 30:15.79 for 6th place in his section of the 10,000, while Ben Larson finished in 30:25.52 for 16th place. Andrew Lesser also participated in the event, finishing in 30:57.41.

Also Thursday, Kaitlin Hanenburg took 5th place in her section of the women's 3,000-meter steeplechase, crossing the finish line in 10:39.89. Spenser Lynass finished 8th in his section of the men's 3,000-meter steeplechase, clocking in at 9:03.73. Christian Meyer placed 11th in his section of the same event, posting a time of 9:08.43.

At the time of this release, results were not final in various distance and field events at the Mt. SAC Relays and Bryan Clay Invitational. The Rams finish the weekend at the Mt. SAC Relays and the Beach Track & Field Invitational, hosted by Long Beach State, on Saturday. The majority of CSU athletes participating Saturday will compete at Long Beach State.
