ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Justin Green completed competition in the heptathlon at the NCAA Championships Saturday with a final score of 5,449, which ranks 13th in the country.

“I’m proud of Justin. He competed with a lot of poise,” commend multi-events coach Tim Cawley. “It was great for him to get this experience at this level.”

In Green’s strongest event, the pole vault, the junior tied for fourth, clearing the bar set at 16 feet, 6.75 inches. He placed 10th in both the 60-meter hurdles (8.33 seconds) and the 1,000-meter run (2:57.81).

Green was one of three athletes that traveled to the Albuquerque Convention Center. Trevor Brown placed 13th in the 60-meter hurdles, while Kiah Hicks took 15th in the weight throw Friday.

The Rams will split their squad next weekend for the first outdoor meet of the year, as the multi-event athletes will head to the Tom Benich Classic at Northern Colorado beginning Thursday, and the rest of the squad will travel to Boulder for the Jerry Quiller Classic which starts Friday.
