DeLoach had a phenomenal weekend, improving one place in the standings in the 60-meter hurdles through each round. In the final heat, DeLoach ran a lifetime best, 7.82, making her the seventh fastest American of all-time. She placed second and qualified for the world team for her first time as a hurdler.
Both athletes competed in the 60-meter hurdles, DeLoach finished fourth overall in the preliminaries with a run of 7.95 seconds. Brown finished 15th with a mark of 7.91.
This would send both athletes to the semi-finals, where DeLoach finished third overall, improving her standing, edging out Candice Price, with a time of 7.98.
Brown came in 14th with a 7.89, barely keeping him from the finals. He remains ranked first in the Mountain West and 19th in the country among Division-I athletes.
Daniel Weirich was the only athlete to compete at the Colorado School of Mines’ Joe Davies Open this weekend, taking second in the shot put. He threw a mark of 52 feet, 8.75 inches.
