Track & field preview: CSU's Hemphill competes in NCAA championships

FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Colorado State’s Kristen Hemphill will compete in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the 2010 NCAA track & field championships hosted by the University of Oregon beginning Thursday in a semifinal race. The finals will take place Saturday.

The semifinal race will consist of two heats, with the top five advancing from each heat plus the next best four times. The race is scheduled to begin at 7:15 p.m. MT at Hayward Field. If Hemphill qualifies for the final, the race will begin Saturday at 11:54 a.m.

CBS will televise the final two hours of the meet live from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday. In addition, other than when CBS/CBS College Sports is on the air, there will be a live Web cast of the championships available at www.NCAA.com. Live results will be available here.

Oregon will also have extended coverage of the NCAA championships at www.goducks.com. The Web site will feature a live blog, photo galleries, real-time race recaps and video interviews.
