2008 (Indoor Sophomore/Outdoor Freshman): During the outdoor season Leslie had two top-10 finishes, coming in eighth place in the 200 meters (27.65) at the Tom Benich Classic (April 5), and in ninth place in the 400 meters (1:02.44) at the Jack Christiansen Invitational (April 25).

2007 (Indoor Freshman): Leslie gained experience during the indoor season and then redshirted the outdoor season.

High School: Leslie lettered in both cross country and track while attending Vail Christian High School in Minturn, Colo., and Battle Mountain High School in Vail, Colo. She earned all-league honors in track from 2003-06 and in cross country from 2004-05. She was named second-team all-state in track in 2004 and first-team all-state in cross country in 2005. She was the cross country Colorado Division 4A and state champion in 2005. She holds the school records in the 100 meters (12.8), 200 meters (26.6), and 400 meters (58.3). She graduated Suma Cum Laude.

Personal: Leslie was born Nov. 16, 1987, to Erik and Lorrie Peterson in Rock Springs, Wyo. She has a younger sister, Karlie. Her father played football at the University of Wyoming. She is majoring in marketing.
