2009 (Sophomore): Josh began the indoor season with a third-place finish in the 200-meter dash (23.07) at the Wyoming Power Meet (Dec. 6). He recorded his best time of the year in the 60-meter dash (7.13) at the Air Force All-Comers Meet (Jan. 16). He had a successful outdoor season posting scores in three meets. At the Wyoming Gem City Duals (April 18), he finished second-place in the 200-meter dash (22.19). He had an eighth-place finish in the 200-meters (22.19) at the Jack Christiansen Invitational (April 24). He had a seventh-place finish in the 200-meters (22.49) at the Front Range Invitational (May 2).
2008 (Freshman): Josh posted two scores at the Jack Christiansen Invitational (April 25) when he finished seventh in the 200-meters (22.29) and eighth in the 100-meters (11.30). He was named academic all-conference at the end of the year. High School: Josh was a varsity letterwinner in both track and football while attending Faith Christian High School in Arvada, Colo. He was named first-team all-conference in football and second-team all-state in both football and track. He was part of two conference championship teams in football and track, three state football championship teams, and two state track championship teams. He holds the school record in the 200-meter dash and the 4x200-meter relay, both set in 2007.
Personal: Josh was born May 31, 1989, to Douglas and Judy Murphy in Denver, Colo. He has a sister, Michaela. He is majoring in construction management.
