High school: Ashly lettered in softball and track while attending Rocky Mountain High School in Fort Collins, Colo. She earned all-conference honors in the 400-, 200- and 100-meter runs her junior season. She was named team MVP her junior season. She was the 400-meter state champion in 2008 and won state championships in the 4x400-meters her freshman and sophomore year.

Personal: Ashly was born July 20, 1991, to Kent and Sandy Lester in Fort Collins, Colo. She has a younger sister, Carly. She has yet to declare a major.
