2009 (Indoor Sophomore/Outdoor Junior): During the indoor season, Cameron scored at the Air Force Collegiate Invitational (Feb. 13) finishing eighth (15.19m) in the shot put. Cameron also scored at the MWC indoor championships with a fifth-place finish in the shot put (15.77m). Cameron had a nice outdoor season as he scored twice at the Jack Christiansen Invitational (April 24) by finishing fourth in the hammer throw (54.77m) and second in the discus throw (51.98m).

2008 (Indoor Freshman/Outdoor Sophomore): During the indoor season, Cameron finished 10th in the weight throw (15.51m) and 11th in the shot put (13.28m) at the MWC indoor championships (Feb. 28). During the outdoor season, he was a consistent scorer in the discus throw, including a win (53.47m) at the Jack Christiansen Invitational (April 25) and a third-place finish (54.21m) at the Mesa Classic (April 11). At the MWC outdoor championships (May 14), he scored with a fourth-place finish (54.22m) in the discus throw and an eighth-place finish (45.51m) in the hammer throw. At the Midwest Regional (May 30), he scored in the discus throw with an eighth-place finish (50.95m).

2007 (Outdoor Freshman): After redshirting during the indoor season, Cameron scored in both his events at the MWC outdoor championships (May 9) with a second-place finish in the discus throw (56.46m) and sixth-place finish in the shot put (14.82m), establishing personal bests in both events. At the end of the year he was named all-MWC in the discus and earned an MWC academic all-conference award.

High School: Cameron earned varsity letters in both track and football while attending Mayfair High School in Lakewood, Calif. He was named all-Suburban League in track (three times) and football (twice), and in 2006 was named all-state in track. Three times he was named field athlete of the year and four times he was Suburban League champion in track and football. He holds the school record in the discus throw (60.17m), set in 2006.

Personal: Cameron was born June 3, 1988, to Brenda and Jim Carter in Inglewood, Calif. He has two brothers, Michael and David, and three sisters, Yvette, Brandy and Khirin. Majoring in health and exercise science.
