2009 (Junior): Berg started the outdoor season by setting a personal best and recording a regional qualifying mark with a throw of 57.93 meters in the hammer throw at the CU Potts Invitational (March 21). She recorded a first-place finish in the hammer throw (56.29m) at the Tom Benich Track Classic (April 4), where she also finished fourth in the discus (45.90m). In the Wyoming Gem City Duals(April 18), Berg placed first with a toss of 56.47m in the hammer throw and placed third in the discus with a throw of 46.95m. Berg would place in both events again in the Jack Christiansen Invitational (April 24) finishing first in the hammer throw (55.88m) and sixth in the discus (44.58m). Berg would claim first place once again in the hammer throw (56.35m) at the Colorado State Ram open (May 9) and fifth in the discus (43.84m). She would go on to break her personal-best throw with a toss of 58.25m in the hammer throw at the MWC championships (May 16), where she claimed third place. Meagan ended her season competing in the hammer throw and discus at the NCAA Midwest Regional Meet.
2008 (Sophomore): Meagan scored once during the indoor season, with a seventh-place finish in the weight throw (16.22m) at the Air Force Invitational (Feb. 1). She also had a very successful outdoor season as she scored nine times. At the Mesa Classic (April 11), she finished fifth in both the hammer throw (53.06m) and the discus throw (45.22m). She finished in third place in the hammer throw (54.22m) at the Jack Christiansen Invitational (April 25). She then scored in all three of her events at the Front Range Championships (May 3), finishing second in the hammer throw (55.28m), fifth in the shot put (11.96m) and sixth in the discus throw (43.71m). She scored twice at the MWC outdoor championships (May 14), finishing second in the hammer throw (55.99m) and eighth in the discus throw (44.02m). Finally, she scored at the Midwest regional (May 30) in the hammer throw when she finished in eighth place (56.54m). At the end of the year, she earned an MWC all-academic award.
2007 (Freshman): Meagan competed at Southern Methodist University, where she finished eighth in the discus throw (43.19m) at the Conference USA outdoor championships (May 11).
High School: Meagan was a four-time letterwinner in track and field while attending Desert Vista High School in Phoenix, Ariz. She was regional champion in the shot put and discus throw in 2005 and 2006. In 2005 and 2006 she was also Arizona state champion in the discus throw and was the state champion in the shot put in 2006. In 2006 she was named a USATF Junior All-American. In 2004 she was part of the Arizona state women's championship team. She holds school records in the discus (46.24m) and the shot put (12.34m) as well as the state record in the hammer throw (51.05m), all set in 2006.
Personal: Meagan was born Feb. 2, 1988, to Joseph and Tami Berg in Santa Clara, Calif. She has two brothers, Paul and Ryan, and two sisters, Katelyn and Lauren. She is majoring in technical journalism.
