FORT COLLINS, Colo.—The Colorado State indoor track and field team will make its first trip of the season to Air Force, as the Rams take part in an important meet at the Academy this weekend.
The Rams will open action on Saturday at the Don Barrett Air Force Duals, featuring teams from Air Force, Colorado, Colorado State, Northern Colorado, and Wyoming.
“I hope we will be a lot more aggressive this weekend,” said Head Coach Brian Bedard. “We were kind of wide- eyed last weekend, especially our younger athletes who were a bit timid, trying to figure everything out. So, I think we have learned a little bit from that experience, and I think we will move forward from that. We really try to stress that it’s all a process, we have to learn from our mistakes, and get better and move forward, and I’m hoping that’s what I’m going to see this weekend.”
Many athletes will compete in the Don Barrett Duals, including Ellie Rastall, Nicole Peters, Spenser Lynass and Jake Keyser in the mile, Colin Anderson and Damon Austin in the 800-meter run, Ryan Friese in the 400 meters, and Nigel Joseph and Sulaiman Sayyid in the 200 meters.
Other athletes that will lead the Rams into competition include Jennifer Ugochukwu and Cameron Carter in the shot put, Kelby Dias in the 60-meter run and 60-meter hurdles, and Tyler Short, Colin Anderson, Samantha McMillian and Brittany Lee in the 800-meter run.
