2009 (Sophomore): Laine scored once during the indoor season with a fourth-place finish in the 5,000-meter run (20:42.36) at the Air Force Collegiate Invitational (Feb. 13). Laine posted her best time of the outdoor season in the 5,000-meter run, finishing in second place (5:22.51) at the Colorado State Ram Open (May 9). 2008 (Freshman): Laine posted her first career score at the Air Force Invitational (Feb. 1), where she finished eighth in the 5,000 meters (21:03.93).

High School: Laine was a three-time letterwinner in cross country, track and swimming while at Bear Creek High School in Lakewood, Colo. She was named second team all-conference in cross country and first-team in track. She was part of the Class 5A 4x800-meter league champions in 2006 and 2007, and the girl's team champions in 2005. She holds the 4x800-meter relay record set in 2007. She won academic all-state honors all four years.

Personal: Laine was born Aug. 6, 1988, to Kristin and Del Thomas. She has two sisters, Natalie and Andrea. She is majoring in corporate finance.
