2009 (Freshman): During the indoor season, Caston scored in two events at the MWC indoor championships with a second-place finish in the high jump (2.05m) and a seventh-place finish in the triple jump (14.13m). Caston had a remarkable first outdoor season with four first-place finishes in the high jump. He scored in the Wyoming Gem City Duals (April 18) finishing first in the high jump (2.05m). He scored finishing fourth in the high jump (1.95m) at the Jack Christiansen Invitational (April 24). He captured first place in the high jump at the Front Range Invitational (May 2). At the MWC championships (May 13), he won the high jump (2.10m) and scored in the triple jump with a seventh-place finish (14.44m). Caston finished his season participating in the high jump at the NCAA Midwest Regional meet.

High School:
Caston was the 2008 Colorado 5A high jump champion. He was also a varsity letterwinner in three sports while attending Aurora Central High School in Aurora, Colo., where he was named all-Skyline League in both basketball and soccer and all-state in the high jump. In his senior year he was named track team MVP and won the league championship in basketball. He holds the state record in the pentathlon.

Personal: Caston was born July 24, 1990, to Debra Mabin in Emporia, Kan. He is majoring in psychology.
