CSU garners 36 academic all-conference awards

Rams presented with honor in four sports

2009 (Sophomore): Ellie began the indoor season at the Don Barrett Air Force Duals (Jan. 31), where she finished ninth in the mile run (5:24.62). She had a strong performance in the 5,000-meters at the MWC indoor championships (Feb. 26) finishing fifth (18:44.19). She began the outdoor season by recording her best time in the 1,500-meters finishing fourth (4:45.85) at the CU Invitational (April 11), and also had a third-place finish in the 3,000-meters (10:27.86). She took first-place in the 3,000-meters (10:27.67) at the Wyoming Gem City Duals (April 18). She nabbed another first-place finish in the 5,000-meters (17:50.88) at the Front Range Invitational (May 2). She ended the season with a good showing in the 10,000-meter run, finishing fourth (38:54.45) at the MWC championships.

2008 (Freshman):
Ellie was a consistent scorer throughout her freshman year, posting three scores during both the indoor and outdoor seasons. She finished in second place in the 5,000-meters (18:29.96) at the Air Force Invitational (Feb. 1). At the MWC indoor championships (Feb. 28), she finished in fourth place in both the 3,000-meters (10:29.86) and the 5,000-meters (17:54.37). During the outdoor season, she finished in third place in the 3,000-meters (10:31.34) at the Front Range Championships (May 3). Finally, she finished in seventh place in the 5,000-meters (17:53.02) and in eighth place in the 10,000 meters (37:02.50) at the MWC outdoor championships (May 14).

High School:
Ellie earned four letters in both cross country and track while attending Rocky Mountain High School in Fort Collins, Colo. She was named first-team all-conference and all-state in both her junior and senior years and was the best overall athlete in cross country in 2006. In 2006, she was the Class 5A champion in cross country. She was named academic all-state all four years.

Personal: Ellie was born March 27, 1989, to Pat and Jan Rastall. She has a younger sister, Addy. Majoring in human development and family studies.
