2009 (Sophomore): Nigel had a nice indoor season scoring with a third-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles (8.27) at the MWC indoor championships. He had an even more impressive outdoor season as he scored in the second meet of the season with a fifth-place finish in the 110-meter hurdles (15.04) at the Mesa Classic (April 10). He took first-place in the 110-meter hurdles (15.16) and the 400-meter hurdles (52.54) at the Wyoming Gem City Duals (April 18). At the Jack Christiansen Invitational (April 24), Nigel claimed first place in the 110-meter hurdles (14.75) and second place in the 400-meter hurdles (53.28). He scored with a third-place finish (53.06) in the 400-meter hurdles at the Front Range Invitational (May 2). He had another first-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles at the Colorado State Ram Open (52.04). At the MWC championships (May 13), he scored with a fourth-place finish in the 110-meter hurdles (14.89), a second-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles (52.09) and as a member of the third-place 4x400-meter relay team. Nigel finished his collegiate season running the 400-meter hurdles at the NCAA Midwest Regional meet. He continued his season by competing at the Canadian National Championships, where he qualified for the Francophone Games in Lebanon.

2008 (Freshman): During the indoor season, Nigel posted two scores at the MWC indoor championships (Feb. 28), finishing seventh in the 60-meter hurdles (8.54) and eighth in the 400-meters (49.09). He had a very successful outdoor season, scoring in four events and winning three others. His season began with wins in the 400-meter hurdles at the Colorado Potts Outdoor Invitational (March 22), Tom Benich Classic (April 5), and the Colorado State Ram Open (April 19). His scoring events began with a third-place finish (14.81) in the 110-meter hurdles at the Jack Christiansen Invitational (April 25), followed by scoring in all three of his events at the Mountain West outdoor championships (May 14) - a third-place finish (14.70) in the 110-meter hurdles, a third-place finish (52.28) in the 400-meter hurdles, and a sixth-place finish (13.49m) in the triple jump. At the end of the year he was awarded the 2008 David Gormley Track Scholarship Endowment. He also placed second in the 400-meter hurdles at the Canadian Olympic Trials.

2007-08: Nigel attended the University of Calgary, where he was named the 2007 track co-rookie of the year. In 2007, he was named all-Canadian in the 4x400-meters and he won a silver medal at the Senior Nationals in the 400-meter hurdles. At the Under-21 Western Canada Games, he won three gold medals and one bronze, and set three records in the process (110-meter hurdles, 400-meter hurdles and 4x400-meter relay). In 2008, he was named all-conference in the indoor 4x400-meters and all-conference in the outdoor 110-meter hurdles, 400-meter hurdles and 4x400-meters. He was also a silver medalist in the 400-meter hurdles at the Canadian Senior Nationals (51.55), setting a personal best in the process.

High School: Nigel was a varsity letterwinner in five sports while attending Western Canada High School in Calgary, Alberta. He was a three-time provincial medalist in the 100-meter hurdles. He won the Melissa Bone Memorial Award in 2004. In 2005, he was fourth in the 110-meter hurdles at the Canadian Junior Nationals and was named senior athlete of the year for Western Canada high schools.

Personal: Nigel was born Sept. 18, 1986, to Alice Joseph and Wole (Wally) Ladejoh. He is majoring in liberal arts.
