2009 (Indoor Junior/Outdoor Sophomore): Doug scored for the Rams at the Air Force Collegiate Invitational (Feb. 13) with a sixth-place finish in the pole vault (4.95m). He scored again at the MWC indoor championships (Feb. 26) with a seventh-place finish in the pole vault (4.93m) and a seventh-place finish in the heptathlon (4,709). During the outdoor season, Doug scored in three meets. At the Jack Christiansen Invitational (April 24), he took first place in the pole vault (5.05m). He claimed first place in the pole vault (4.90m) at the Front Range Invitational (May 2). At the MWC championships (May 13), he claimed fifth place in the pole vault (4.75m). Doug finished his season at the NCAA Midwest Regional meet.

2008 (Indoor Sophomore/Outdoor Freshman): Doug had a successful indoor season, scoring in the heptathlon at the MWC indoor championships (Feb. 28), finishing in sixth place (4,607 points) and in the pole vault with a seventh-place finish (4.75m). He then redshirted during the outdoor season.

2007 (Freshman): During the indoor season, Doug scored in the heptathlon with a fourth-place finish (4,713 points) at the Air Force Invitational (Feb. 2). At the MWC indoor championships (Feb. 22), he finished 10th in the heptathlon (3,415 points) and ninth in the pole vault (4.62m). He then consistently scored during the outdoor season. At the MWC outdoor championships (May 9), he finished eighth in both the pole vault (4.60m) and the decathlon (6,083 points). He also finished in second place in the pole vault (4.60m) at the CSU Jack Christiansen Invitational (April 21). At the end of the year he was named MWC academic all-conference.

High School: Doug lettered in three sports while attending Ponderosa High School in Parker, Colo. He was named all-Continental League in the pole vault (2005-06) and high jump (2006). He was part of the 2003 Class 5A state football championship team. He holds the school record in the pole vault (4.65m), set in 2006.

Personal:
Doug was born Dec. 7, 1987, to Dan Dieker and Paula Smykil in Altamonte Springs, Fla. He has a sister, Laura. He is majoring in construction management.
