2009 (Indoor Junior): Ryan had a very productive indoor season, scoring three times. At the Air Force Collegiate Invitational (Feb. 13), he finished fourth in the triple jump (14.67m). At the MWC indoor championships (Feb. 26), he finished fifth in the triple jump (14.75m) and fifth in the long jump (6.98m). Ryan redshirted the outdoor season.

2008 (Indoor Sophomore/Outdoor Junior):
During the indoor season, Ryan scored at the MWC indoor championships (Feb. 28) with an eighth-place finish in the triple jump (13.83m) and at the Air Force Invitational (Feb. 1) with a fifth-place finish in the triple jump (14.41m). During the outdoor season, he scored at the Jack Christiansen Invitational (April 25) with a second-place finish in the triple jump (13.79m) and a fifth-place finish in the long jump (6.22m). He also scored at the Front Range Championships (May 3) by finishing third in the triple jump (13.75m) and sixth in the long jump (6.38m). Earlier in the season he set a personal best in the triple jump (14.40m) by winning the Tom Benich Classic (April 5).

2007 (Indoor Freshman/Outdoor Sophomore): During the indoor season, Ryan scored at the Air Force Invitational (Feb. 2) with eighth-place finishes in both the long jump (6.48m) and the triple jump (14.44m), and at the MWC indoor championships (Feb. 22) with a fifth-place finish in the triple jump (14.17m). He had a very good outdoor season with scores in three different events. At the Rob Upton Invitational (March 24), he finished third in the triple jump (13.55m) and fourth in the long jump (6.53m). At the Jack Christiansen Invitational (April 21), he finished fifth in the long jump (6.41m). His season culminated with a sixth-place finish in the triple jump (14.15m) at the MWC outdoor championships (May 9). 2006 (Outdoor Freshman): After redshirting during the indoor season, Ryan scored in his very first event as a Ram with a fifth-place finish in the triple jump (13.21m) at the Rob Upton Invitational (March 25).

High School: Ryan was a varsity letterwinner in both track and football while attending Monarch High School in Louisville, Colo. He was named all-Skyline Conference in both the long jump and triple jump in 2004 and 2005. He holds the school record in the triple jump, set in 2005.

Personal: Ryan was born Oct. 23, 1987, to Wayne and Tammy Billups. He has a brother, Seth. His father was a wrestler at Drexel University. He is majoring in health and exercise science.
