Wrestling (1953 to 1956)
Ron Day was a Fort Collins native who made national attention as one of the finest wrestlers in the NCAA during his career. Day won all-conference honors and the 1955 and 1956 Skyline Conference championships in his 137 pound weight class. Day finished fourth in the nation in the 1955 NCAA wrestling tournament in the 130 pound class. In the 1956 NCAA championships, Day helped Colorado A&M finish 7th in the nation while he finished second in the 137 pound weight class.
