FORT COLLINS, Colo. - The Colorado State University Department of Athletics announced it has entered into a partnership with Under Armour, Inc., the Maryland-based leader in innovative performance apparel, footwear, and accessories, to provide on-field apparel and footwear for Ram athletic programs beginning with the 2013-14 academic year.
Under Armour is recognized as the originator of the athletic performance category and has grown to become a global brand with the mission to make all athletes better.

McElwain is in his first year as head coach of the Rams after serving as offensive coordinator of the Alabama Crimson Tide the previous four seasons.
"Having Under Armour and their brand recognition is significant for its popularity in the age demographic of our student-athletes," McElwain added. "Under Armour does such an unbelievable job in their industry. We're excited we're going to be part of the Under Armour team."
Colorado State men's basketball coach Larry Eustachy echoed those sentiments with respect to the integrity and popularity of Under Armour products.
"On the recruiting trail it's become abundantly clear to us that young athletes are rapidly gravitating to the Under Armour brand and their products," Eustachy said. "They want to wear their shoes and uniforms. We all want to be affiliated with winners, and all of us see Under Armour in that light. This partnership is going to serve us well."
Rams head volleyball head coach Tom Hilbert, whose team has qualified for 17 consecutive NCAA tournaments, lauded the choice of Under Armour.
"In the past five years, Under Armour has really emerged in volleyball apparel," said Hilbert. "Their product is very appealing, and it's on the cutting edge of what active and athletic people want to wear, so I think it's a great partnership."
Colorado State Athletic Director Jack Graham commented that, "Forging a partnership with Under Armour was a priority for our Department and was accomplished through the efforts of a lot of great people and hard work. This is another important step forward in our Bold New Era."
