Old Town in Fort Collins has become a destination spot for locals as well as visitors.
One of Fort Collins’ favorite spots has taken on added appeal for Ram fans any time they are in town.
On Aug. 1, the Ram Zone retail shop opened at address just inside the Northern Hotel.
Since early last spring, athletic department Lory Student Center Bookstore officials had been working on a plan to open a retail shop in Old Town, featuring the latest Ram apparel including Under Armour, the school’s official athletics provider.
“Having a retail location in Old Town would offer Ram fans an easily accessible shopping location that can support better weekend, holiday and evening hours,” said bookstore director John Parry. “We hope this location will also allow us to offer some product to the community that we don’t currently have in our on campus location.”
The location also provides a desired local community presence and exposure for Ram athletics as well as the entire university, Parry said.
The 2,000-square foot Ram Zone store won’t simply feature gear. Fans can also purchase tickets to upcoming events during regular store hours. The store’s décor will be all Rams, all of the time, including memorable photos plus television sets with highlights and historical moments in Colorado State athletics.
“We are hopeful that this new location will help support a larger fan base for CSU and help get more of the Fort Collins community excited about CSU and Ram sports,” Parry said. “This location will help meet the current and future demand for CSU products.”
