FORT COLLINS, Colo. – The Colorado State University Department of Athletics hosted the 15th annual Ram Jam at Moby Arena on Wednesday evening.
All kids grades eight and under were invited to attend the event, sponsored by The Group, Wendy’s, Texas Roadhouse, McDonald’s, Raising Canes, Noodles & Co. and Kodak. The Group, the event’s main supporter, has now sponsored the event every year of its existence.
The evening kicked off with a short performance by the Ramettes, a youth spirit program for girls between four years old and eighth grade, and was followed by a raffle for tickets to CSU football, volleyball, women’s basketball and men’s basketball games. A short introduction was then given by men’s basketball player Andy Ogide, and the kids were let lose to play games and interact with the student-athletes.
“My son likes to come for all of the games and activities, and to see the athletes up close,” commented Kendra Allen, a mom at the event.
The event took place from 6-8 p.m., and all kids in attendance were given a free Ram Jam t-shirt and popcorn.
“The Ram Jam is our biggest community outreach event of the year,” said Deidra Church, Assistant Director for CSU Events & Constituent Engagement. “For 15 years, children from the community have had the opportunity to get up-close and personal with our student-athletes. It really is a special and fun night,”
