FORT COLLINS, Colo. -- Colorado State Director of Athletics Jack Graham on Monday issued the following statement.

"I’m excited and encouraged by the creation of a new conference that is the product of the Mountain West and Conference USA coming together. Obviously this is a much larger conference and it presents us with an opportunity to deliver a more competitive schedule to our fans. At the same time, we will be able to preserve all of our long-standing and traditional rivalries such as Wyoming and the Air Force Academy.

"It is expected this new conference will deliver a playoff series between the best teams in the Eastern and Western Divisions. Our fans will like this, and it’s a good example for the rest of college football.

"I do believe that one plus one is more than two in this instance. The Mountain West and Conference USA is a good marriage.”
