Prospective Student-Athletes/Recruits Compliance Home | Current Student-Athletes | Coaches | Boosters, Alumni, Friends and Supporters Definition of a prospective student-athlete:A prospective student-athlete is an individual who has begun classes for the ninth grade, regardless of their athletic ability. It is possible for younger students to be prospective student-athletes if the institution provides the individual financial assistance or other benefits that are not provided to prospective students generally. Becoming a Student Athlete At Colorado State University we are excited about the future of our athletic program and your potential as a student athlete. However, there are some steps that must be taken before becoming a part of the Ram family. The first step towards eligibility is to register with the NCAA Eligibility Center. Follow the instructions after clicking the link to set up an account and begin the process of being certified as an amateur athlete and academic qualifier. The Initial Eligibility Requirements must also be followed to become eligible with the NCAA. You should also apply to Colorado State University early in your senior year and start looking at financial aid options. Once all of these steps are complete you will sign a National Letter of Intent. The signing dates for the NLI can be found here. Also, keep in mind that coaches are limited in how they may contact you by NCAA recruiting guidelines.
